The Thieves guild of Baldur's Gate is secret organization of criminals and pick pockets. Little is known about this organization other than that the leader goes by the name Ravenscar.

Harlim carves a very accurate picture of himself, looking for a hideing rat on wooden post in one of the...quieter areas of baldurs gate, one where lots of "rats" congregate.
The picture actually depits Harlim with a rat tail as well, and meticiously hidden under the wooden post is a "block of cheese" which is actually a bag filled with a decent count of gold coins. The bag also contains a note, which to most people would look like the ramblings of a lunatic.
"Follow, cheese, one rat is home. hungry rat need cage" "Squeekers make bad rats, three foot rat dont squeek, but three foot rat needs to sqawk with dog".
The note goes on and on, to a trained eye one would realise every other line is a security measure to confuse and to bore anyone reading this who isnt meant to read it.
In short, any thieves guild members who act as eyes and ears for the night and day masters would translate the note as.
"I have returned to the sewers, and I seek a place among my brothers".

Hopefully the thieves guild interior will be done before to long. We will rig it to you having to know a password to get it inside. That or something like a key.

On SoH they have a cave with a locked door where if you type in a secret word (through the talk channel) the door unlocks and you could enter. I thought that was kinda neat. If we could do something like that here - like if you click on the door, there will be a voice from a guard inside asking to speak the magic word - and if the word is spoken correctly the door would unlock. Would be kinda cool imo.

Yeah SoH had doors like that plus the Ten Fingers Tenent uses a password to enter it. The voicing password thing is cool, use it when you can lol.

Most thieves guild memembers are unknown, but a few select people have found out that harlim aspires to work for them hehe.
Anyway, most thieves guilds usually run initiations for their members, so anytime a dm wants to him me up in game feel free to do so. I heard that Radiums planning several things, which is all well and good but IMHOP guild initiations should be seperate, its hard to focus on one person when other people are involved.
Messages can be left for Harlim at the elfsong tavern, a hidden spot on the bridge leading out of the city, and at the temple of mask

From within a dark, shadowy room, a circle of three masked individuals gathered for a meeting. One of the three reaches into his inner pockets and pulls forth a wooden carving of a hin holding a rats tail, as well as a note. He tosses the objects upon the table for his companions to view.
"Do we know who he is, or why he wishes to join the brotherhood?" asked the first of the three. "No, but it is unlikely that he is a spy, or an agent of some other band." replied the second. "I know of him. He is a mere rogue who grew up in the slums. A trouble-maker, that one. No affiliations of any kind to anyone far as I know, except to himself. I have eyes and ears in every corner of the city, no vagrant can ever be hidden from me."spoke the third. "No affiliations, until now, that is." answered the first. "You wish to initiate him?" asked the second with an arched brow. "He will need to be tested." replied the first. "I will see what I can do regarding that then," spoke the third.
The three nodded in unison and dispersed without so much as another word.

A letter with a blank line was delivered to some one I know, then returned with a signature.
She has been impatiently waiting for further contact.
The mysterious man she spoke to can reach her through me any time.

Question: Is this guild connected with the Shadow Thieves? Or are we allowed to know without being a member?

I dont think our original intention was to incorporate the Thieves of Amn..but depending on how far we design the realms, it could encompass them.
