Speaking of the topic on another thread got me to thinking about this. Who are some obscure NPCs that you would like to see make an appearance on the PW or in a quest?

I would love to see Artemis Entreri and Jarlaxle. These two are just the most intriguing NPCs that ever existed.
Artemis has changed from being a cold hearted assassin to a warrior who has learned honor, friendship, and perhaps even love. I would give MAJOR props to the DM who can properly play Artemis Entreri correctly. He is not your typical evil bastard, yet he's not exactly drizzt do urden either...he's somewhere in-between, his mind and his heart are confused at best, and these would lead to questionable actions. He is a man of change.
Jarlaxle is not your typical drow. He is the most witty, charismatic, and opportunistic individual in all of the FR. Though he is a dark elf, he is not evil and cruel like his brethren. It would be much easier to possess Jarlaxle than Artemis Entreri, but equally as fun. All you need is to be extremely charismatic, intelligent, and witty - this is your typical Shakespearian romanticist.
These two guys are your basic wayward aventurers - they travel anywhere and everywhere - where there is most coin, opportunity, adventure, and fun to be found. So finding them in the Sword Coast would be no surprise whatsoever. Perhaps a plot with two DMs controlling this pair could be devised where they temporarily work with the PCs on an adventure, or involved in some other deeper plot. Anything that has to do with intrigue, mystery, and opportunity will have these two guys there, no matter what kind of odds or dangers. I bet if these two NPCs are played right, the players would absolutely love them.

Although he is fairly famous, Volothamp was last represented in computer game fashion in the Baldur's Gate games.
It would be nice to see Volo, as he does travel the realms.

Speaking for the Villians, I think because Darkhold (The western base for the Zhents) is relatively close and still in the Sword Coast, that Semmemon (Manshoon's lapdog) and his consort/lover Ashemmi would be interesting NPC's to meet, and could certainly be used in a quest for the PC's.

I agree, I am very fond of the FR villians even though I never play one. I want to see them used for sure.

to be honest, any PC who comes in contact with someone of Sem's power should die immediately with little chance of rez. Seriously, lets not get carried away here...

No one said we have to kill Semmemon. I think it would be great to confront him on more persuasive terms, he is LE, so he'd be open to "better offers". We could always kill his girlfriend.

Yeah its for rp and immersion I think...to bring the Realms to life...more than see who the players can defeat within the realms. I don't think any DM would possess a powerful evil NPC and run around and kill players, and even moreso, place them in a dungeon or a place where they could wreak havoc. Its just not very realistic to be able to kill someone like Semmemon or Manshoon or Sass Tam or what have you...if it could be done then it would already - many have tried but failed. Perhaps in due time, like a few years, when the server has aged and PC's are starting to hit epic levels, then it would be more feasible. But certainly not now or any time soon. For now its all about having fun and rping encounters with both good and evil npcs - perhaps involving quests or plotlines. We'll worry about killing that orc chieftain first, then think about Semmemon or Sass Tam later when the time is right.

Yes, another PW admin and myself were speaking about this very thing. Its a given some PC will want to try and kill Drizzt or even more so a bad guy like Sem. Like I told him, let them try, many in the realms already have.....

I must admit, I'd probably try to kill Drizzt on general principle. Too "angst-ridden" for my tastes.
I see no problem with high level villians, though. They might be fun to interact peacefully with and if anyone _should_ decide to attack them as if they were just a spawned monster ... well, let their corpses reveal their fate to all others.
As for other NPC's, I'd vote for pretty much every one of the NPC's from the game.
I MISS Minsc and Boo.

Without a doubt, Xan from the original BG. He was and still is one of my favorite RPG characters of all time. He was hilarious.
"We're all doomed..."
...Actually, I'd RP him if you'd let me, hehe.

Edwin odesserin.
My fave NPC red wizard of all time, in fact with the red wizard RPi hope to create with my red wizard, maybe he could come check on me as an excuse for his appearance lol.
I personally would look forward to tradeing harsh yet cunning and sharp stabbeing witty remarks with him.

Yeah I want to see the original Baldur's gate cast, good and bad in the game giving quests and being used by the DM's and what not. A little triva....
There is already one NPC that is exclusive to the original game that is already in the world, can anyone name him/her?
