that is what i suggest - when a new player comes to our Temple and says that he wants to serve Tyr, he is given very simple dress, and time to make himself absolutely sure - if he wants to be a cleric, or paladin of the Holy Order of Tyr. That lasts from 1 to 5 level. After he has decided, he is taken as a healer (to become a cleric) or as a soldier (to become a paladin) and given another dress. That lasts until healer is given an ability to fully resurrect (13 level) and soldier proved himself in a battles (i think the same lvl). After it cleric and paladin are given special dress, they become well known and noble citizens of Baldur's Gate. And the last outfits for High Paladin and High Cleric of Holy Order of Tyr, guys who know duke personally (thats from epic levels) ;-0. Actually such dress is needed only for roleplay and wearing in town. Surely cleric and paladin can crush monsters in anything they like, but if we will have the appearance changer, i am always talking about, there will be a possibility to wear a full plate, and on the model there will be shown simple clothes. Hope to read some comments ;-)))

Just because you are part of a temple/church doesnt mean you will become a noble. Also when it comes to RP, I hate to say it, but level has no bearing on anything really. You can be a level 20 cleric and still serve a level 3 cleric. Stat wise you can crush him, but in terms of his renown, and roots with RP, he could have you erradicated from the Coast.
Dont expect me to make any outfits for any of the churches/temples, you can make your own with the appearance changer as you have already stated. Though the helmet in the last picture group is part of a hak pack that we dont have enabled yet.

Nonsense. While i get to 13 level i will be well known among players, who are citizens, of course if i will not see and will not take part in any DM quest (as it is for now) it will be harder to me to become famous on the server. And for what reason i will serve another player, who is 3 level against my 10 for now??? If he was my teacher - then i overgrown him, now he will serve me. And any higher authority want let 3 lvl someone to command another one who is 20. Level means nothing anywhere except online game. And i dont expect anything from you, i even didnt know that this your prerogative to make outfits. If there was a normal appearance changer in BG server i would do it myself, and actually i can rule Tyrs temple and all its life by myself, unless there is no another Tyrs cleric higher level then me. It means only that such little things as outfits for tyrrans can be decided by highest cleric of the Temple, and not by the Head DM, who is making something global everyday and doesnt pay a lot attention on what color are players boots.
So - bringing in normal appearance changer can bring player to player quests and events or maybe Head DM is against it? Maybe players can not make a RP step without DM permission and have only one right on a server - to huck and slash monsters and kill noob players, who have chosen UD races? Exuse me, i dont want to be rude, but i didnt see any event or quest except the one, when Ice killed me in my first 10 minutes on a server. Thats why i am trying to entertain myself with thinking about player to player events.

Nonsense. While i get to 13 level i will be well known among players, who are citizens, Your deeds define your reknown, -not- your level, you can be level 13 and still be an enigma to most of the people in the region especially the PCs. You want to be famous? RP with people and do great things, just because you reach level 13 does not make everyone respect you. Level does not dicate superiorty in terms of status. Perfect example, my halflng thief has had two encounters with Ravenscar, the leader of the theives guild, and level wise my thief would own him and his body guards, but RP and interaction wise ravenscar is more powerful then he will ever be. As Ice said, if your a level 20 cleric, sure you can bring storms and do all sorts of mircales that the level 3 church leader cannot, but RP wise hs is still superior to you until you prove yourself with great deeds and not great levels. Edit-I do like the uniforms though, very nice.

LOL!!!! What deeds? In quests and events? No one DM still can not take me officially into the Tyrs Temple! I am a 10 lvl cleric, i didnt see anyone in a quest or event! I do know some players already and they know me. Who is that 3 lvl leader of a church? AHAHAHAHA! Thats awesome! If i will be a 20 lvl cleric that leader will clean my boots, or i will take 10 lvl cleric better to do it. And do you really think that 20 lvl cleric, who can in anger ruin half of Baldur's Gate is not known to the duke, and not welcomed by him for defending of the town and protecting his citizens? Its a Mad House, dont know how its in english :-D
my great levels ARE my deeds, hundreds of slaughtered wyverns, mountains of dead goblins, rivers of gnolls blood - and who is for me a first level noob, whom i acsidentally can kill by snorring? Ohhh, thats really funny.
ps glad you liked uniforms ;-)

20 lvl cleric = lvl 20 cleric Also like ice said I do not see how levels have anything to do with Role-playing.. If you wanna be well known or running around hopping in your little dress stay around town and eventually a DM will start an event with your (God) and give you a actual quest for more and likely you and/or your peers, via: servants of Tyr to do. Then they will, but understanding one thing a level 3 king over rules level 40 servants any day.. it is not the fact of zomgroflstomp he is level 3 lets over run his ass and take the throne over no.. its zompwnsnausage he is our king bow down and cheer for our almighty ruler. Fail to understand this to meta game is to right click and see what level a character and be like oh I can roflstomp pwnsnausage wambam thank you mam his ass because he is effortless to me. -Thanks Ionix/Ryokami aka Orcs-R-Us aka ruler of ice ice baby to go. Edit: Btw I like the idea of wearing such and such for being part of the order of Tyr or any other temple though it should be consulted between players and not be stressing out other ideas for the DMs they already have enough to deal with. As of now Ryokami already has picked out such an outfit for members of the Holy oder of Bane

We are trying hard to get as many people into their holy/unholy orders as possible but you need to understand, with server issues its been near impossible for us to do so with out crashing a million times.
Its nothing against -you- its just that we have to work with what we have and what the server allows us, or doesnt allow us to do.
And as for the level=status thing, I will support ices statemetn again, that if you want to RP being a high position in a church you need to *gasp* RP getting there!.
Frankly a level 20 preist of tyr who got there just by killing and slaying this or that monster isnt going to be popular, if you really want to have a place in the church you should start helping people come to just-decisions about their day to day lives, start offering consultations, and helping people make decisions with issues that they cant seem to solve on their own.
I'm sorry, but I personally would not really be amazed at a tyrian who can slay 1001 monsters with his left nostril, but I would be absolutly amazed if that said Tyrian helped me settle a dispute with a wife/lover/child/enemy etc and etc because THATS what a Tyrians main cause is!.

Quick idea expanding on wizards's post: Why not post something in the Elfsong Tavern section of the forums indicating that these services are now available between/on _____ hours/days. People who read the forums will then create the business for you.
Also, I'd just like to point out that just because you're one of the first/only people in your particular church, that does not equal instant gratification and the ability to be 10 priests. My monk is the only member of Ilmater's church(of which I, in my noobishness, am aware), but he's not trying to be some sort of superhuman god-priest shooting buffs out of his hands and assigning a dress code for everyone (although I do like the idea of seeing orders adapt such things, but all current members should have to agree on it once there are more people in the order). Sure, he's level 12 and he's killed just about every treant/minotaur/wyvern/orc, etc. times ten, but he's still just an initiate.
Modified to reflect information on certain other members of Ilmater's church of which I may not be aware.

First off, here are the things I do on this server.. just to enlighten you: -Listen and deal with Player complaints -Listen and take into account player suggestions -Oversee the other DM's and taking on of new DM's -Listening to other DM suggestions, complaints, ect -Building of all the server items -Building of all the server merchants -Building of most of the new monsters -Staying aware of things on the forums, and trying to use them in game -Keeping up on the naughty and nice list for the server -Knowing the current exploits, work arounds, and other useful information Those are the things I do, my title may say Head DM, but I do much more than that. Bottom line your level has no bearing at all on your status, no matter what. You will find this to be even more so on other Hardcore RP servers, and there they will shove in your face that a level 3 owns your life lol. Just because you havent found other people of your temple doesnt mean they arent out there. There are several clerics floating around the server who just havent made them selves known, just like there is a cleric of Illmater that most of the veterans know, but the new guys dont. If you really want to start the whole "Oh well my level 20 can roflstomp your city" then keep this is mind.. there is always someone better than you out there. Sure you can piss some people off, but your spells will go poof at some point, your protections will fade, and youll be back to some piss ant who can hardly hit anything your level.. But before any of that, someone like Elminster or Keldon can snuff you out, or say the Dukes call in their armies, and their allies. Hell even the evils will want you dead because they see you challenging them (as weak as it may be). So remember, you want to go bat shit crazy, and someone will be there to keep you in check. The uniforms are fine, but as Ive said one of the helmets is in a hak pack we dont have active, and for the time being Im not making any guild outfits other than the ones most commonly used. For now, use the appearance changers and work with that, but dont think you are a high and mighty of a temple because you are the only one, or based off your level. -Ice

Hmm...strange about helmets, i see Flaming Fists dressed in them...
About levels and slaying wyverns and rp. It will be logical to imagine that citizens of Beregost are suffering from nearby wyverns and surely will search for a adventurer to help them to get rid of this creatures. After that hunter will bring them 500 wyverns tails, he, certainly, will be a Beregost city Hero. Isnt it logical? Aye, he didnt get rid of wyverns, they are respawning for other players, but maybe we will close eyes on it? Its a game. So, the adventurer become well known in Beregost as a wyvern hunter, and thats only because player has enough levels to slay wyverns. That can be a personal static quest for a player, increasing his reputation on the Sword Coast. There can be plenty of such quests on a server, and player can have in game reputation that he is a well known hero, even if he didnt said a word to other players. Such things are done in games for one person, in online game it can be done as numbers somewhere in a statistic screen. Quite logical, isnt it? Its very nice when 20 lvl and 1 lvl character are having chat in Elfsong tavern as equal, but when hungry ogre will attack them outside they will not stay equal. Even if i wont metagame, and wont know is my new friend higher or lower level then me, i will understand it in nearest fight. From that time my attitude to him and his to me will change, i will feel superior to him, and he will take it normally. Thats benefits of having levels. So they have direct connection to the roleplay. Thats why i think is better to declare you levels and abilities by wearing different dress. Dreaming about having High Cleric dress will surely be stimulating to reach high levels. Actually its a problem of all appearance changers - you dress your character in what you wish, and loose interest for a father gaming, because you already have thousands gp and wearing the best dress, and you go for another server. With sort of a dress code player will be pushed to play to the end, to his 30 level, which is really hard. I really would like to walk in my High Cleric dress among poorly dressed low levels, shake hands and kiss babys, and as High Cleric i want tyrrans wear what i told them to wear. When there will appear another High Cleric, High Paladin, higher level then the one who maked dress code, he will make his changes in the uniform, i am sure it can be real fun and make real concurention between two clerics of one Temple, or cleric and paladin, or two paladins. For now on Valek Sunborn is the Highest authority in a Tyrs Holy Order, he can make every tyrrans to wear what he thinks is better, i will be really stimulated to overgrow him in levels and position among tyrrans to make dress changers and to show all that i am Highest authority at the moment.
....maybe its possible to add that appearance changer somehow, can be fun really ;-)))

I would like to see each Church, especially those in the city, with Paladin suits and Priest robes. It would be a nice addition at some point.
Especially once we get the working religion script in.

One side is black and another white - thats just because its impossible to make one glove black and another white, and as a remembering of Tyrs lost hand and black and white felosophy of the temple. Evil or Good, no grey color. Hope to see others work, can give an advise how to do it - you will have to download this server pwc and haks, z6.invisionfree.com/Haven_Forums/index.php?showtopic=1there is appearance changer in two steps near your start location. Maybe it is not very polite to use another server as a polygon of your dress fantasy, but i have on that server 18lvl PC and dont know other way.

The problem is, while your argument about the wyverns is at least sound its not....out of the ordinary.
Wyverns are a problem but when you march into down demanding to be a hero because you killed ninty nine wyverns, chances are they will thank you but then point you to the line of people who slew the last ninty nine wyverns before you and are waiting to be heros.
Now, saying you slew ninty nine wyverns with one arm broken and a bent sword while dodgeing flaming Iron Throne seige boulders and speaking every known oath to Tyr....aye they would definatly pay attention to that....if you had proof.
You get the idea....i hope

nope, sorry - didn't get it. Can you say it more commonly please? I didn't had an arm broken, but after slaying my last 200 wyverns i roleplayed that they poisoned my eye, so for now i am wearing a cloth on it, and my eye is getting better only in Tyr's temple. Hey, don't tell that this is a benefit of Tyr's church location for me to leave your brains on its own in Attention Clerics thread! ;-))))))
Just thought - it coul be really funny if in Beregost will be carnival and festival for some wyvern hunter, a big celebration of 1000 killed wyvern. Can be a nice DM event actually :-)
