Some encounters, mostly "boss-types" will be designed for a well rounded group. The other option for groups is to tackle higher CR monsters, which will reward greater xps.
As we continue to tune monsters, you'll see less of the one-shot crits killing people, although you still have reason to fear a frost giant if you're too low in level or asleep at the keyboard.

And what I meant in regards for xp is that every single person on this server is self centric. That is, we dont care what the total party xp is. If we are getting less xp, its considered less xp, regardless of if the party is getting more xp that the mob was originally worth.
Not being a jerk, thats just how people work, in generally.

Ouch, I was close to deleting this as a stereo-type comment like that ALWAYS generates flame wars. I ask people not to respond to this, but to your point, yes there are people that will focus more on the perceived race to the end. Once again, we don't have plans to tune the game to the powerbuilder in his or her race to 30.

I totally agree with Shorn. It is being looked at at the "What I get" and not "What the party gets" stand point. But, whats not being seen by this point of view is that if you kill something faster, it spawns faster, thus you get XP faster.

Most areas have a chance for a mini-boss, which is essentially a higher CR spawn popping in. The epic encounters will likely be in special areas and will be very different from the random mini-boss spawns. They will also be designed for parties and are not really meant as xp-farm creatures. Of course, the DM's can spawn them at will wherever and whenever they choose, which is always fun

lol back to my battlefield area idea just thought it would be loads of fun and also it can be changed over (Example: during every update) to be a new war front, like 1 month its hordes of orcs, next month its hordes of undead warriors etc.. lol I was just thinking it would be damn cool and fun for big party's and maybe testing guilds abilities to work as a single unit and such was all

You may see some monster adjusting for fun though as we move forward based on DM story lines though. But that's starting to get off topic.

After doing some more party grinding in the bugbear area, it occurred to me that the spawns don't need to be increased. The reason is that when the spawns are all done, the party has a bit of time to take a break and RP some - - something which isn't nearly as likely when there are spawns charging constantly.
Also, that last session had a mage who didn't use too many offensive spells (the two fighters did 90% of the damage, if not more) but he was a valuable addition because of the few buffs spells he used on us. So in other words, a party member almost always has something to add, whether it is in the form of offense, defense, or just RP.
And in three separate days grinding with three different parties (all very much different from each other) I still find that XP shoots up MUCH faster than solo. And yes, my PC is quite capable of soloing for fairly long periods of time.
