Hello there . Me and some others have come to agree that we could form a guild, exclusively for dwarfs, since there has been noted same interest. First name suggeston is Brotherhood of the Beard . It would be based on a mine (if one would be created for us, which would be a dream come true indeed), likely in the mountains (whats a dwarf without mountain to hide in ). Since crafting is in development and added sometimes. The mine could be a source of all metal for the region. Shrines/Temple for dwarven deitys, since there already are for Human and some Elven deitys(Right?). Gold and Shield dwarfs would be welcome to join the guild. Gray dwarfs (Duergar) would not be welcome, since they are all preatty much evil, and dwell in the underdark. Favored class should melee based (Fighter,Barbarian,Paladin,(rogue?) )or cleric of dwarven deity and no arcane spellcasters, because we don't want to start compiting with Weavemasters and besides what would a wizard do in a dump mine anyways ;D. Prestige Classes should open some special ranks and positions acording to them. For example only Dwarven Defender could be able to rise to a rank of a Defender/Guardian, Weaponmaster to champion and so on... Guild would be good by nature, so it would ally itself with Fists and Weavemasters. This are just some of the first thoughts we had, no details yet. I didn't post this on the Guild/Faction sections because it has not been formed yet, but feel free to move it, if it's in the wrong place . Any thought, constuctive critic, ideas etc...

I started a dwarf today for this very reason. I will be splitting time with my main character, but I am definitely interested.
I especially like the mining aspect of things, and think it could lead to some cool RP and cool events.

Why not dwarven wizards? Wizards would have alot to do in the mind, and infact a dwarven wizard would be an asset to defense of said dwarven strong hold.
If your planning on allying with the weave masters why restrict wizards in fear of competition?
I really like the idea.
i was thinking of this idea but with a group of elite dwarven defenders known as the Boldshields.
I might still impliment it.

My char old Hargriss Hammerfist would join to be certain. He's been layin in wait for something like that. The mines thing is a great idea, especially having it bein a source of various ores. Nobody swings a hammer better'n a dwarf!

Sounds like a great idea. I think Barnabus Axtree would jump at the chance to join a dwarf guild. EDIT: Uh-oh. He is a Bard, which means he is considered an arcane spell-caster. He will specialize in armor and weapon crafting if allowed to join. Would you let him in?

As far as a mine goes... there is an old mine entrance (or what appears to be one) on the ridge just above the unearthed ruins on the cell outside of Beregost. It would be scary as hell to be a first level dwarf with all those damn gobbies, but I've often checked that spot out, thinking about how cool it would be to have a dwarven mine there.
And for a dwarven wizard, I've always thought they were cool as hell.. There is a lost clan in one of the Undermountain sets that gives your PC the option of turning into a dwarf.. I played a half-elven wizard who became a dwarf during that session to feel a part of something...this was back in the day (before dwarven wizards were kosher).. one of my favorite characters actually. Ask my bro!
So yeah, I'd vote in favor or wizards being aloud.. but maybe whoever is going to head it up could limit them a bit or something? I kind of get sick of seeing every single character wrapped in a buff bubble all the time.

If I had a dwarf, I would have him join the guild. Perhaps I'll make one someday.

I personally think you should allow all dwarves, even arcane. The Weave Masters won't feel it to be competition. It really depends on the PC RP concept. Is he more a dwarf or more of a scholastic wizard? I say go for it. One of your goals could be to reclaim the CloudPeak mountains also (esp once the white dragon is put there *grins*)

Oh, well there was more interest than I thought, so defenitely gonna do this, and serve you as a leader of the Beards as best I'm able. Serve the Beards and it will serve you . Ok so maybe I hastened things concerning arcane casters, yes they will most likely be allowed to join then. I still want the guild to be highly melee based, almost favor them more. Maybe I'm hard headed, but it's still hard for me to think this mine full of silly dwarf wizards doing magical experiments . They count of wizards could be limited or something, but that would be unfair wouldn't it . Have to think about this. Well, guess I'll start planning the rank system, and our actual goal beside mining different ores for the region eh ? I really like the idea. i was thinking of this idea but with a group of elite dwarven defenders known as the Boldshields. I might still impliment it. Can I read about this Boldshields from somewhere ? Really like to know more about them. Also if there is more Dwarven clans/factions in the area... Where can I read about them or learn. Tried the FG wiki, but it wasn't much of a help. Keep the ideas coming people It's you who is going to be joining the guild, so I would like it to be most appealing for the people in here.

This sounds interesting. I do not like the name though... It should be something related to what you will do... maybe "Dwarven Miners & Crafters" or even "The ... clan" (swaping the"..." for any dwarven name). I think the nature likes such as Silverleaf and the rangers would be neutral to this guild though. Maybe I'll start a dwarf to join this guild.

Good idea. I'll try to whip you guys up a starter guild base, and we can expand on it later. As for locating it in the mountains, its not to easy to get past the Hill Giants. Are you sure you would want it there?
