Its better if you post information about the house and a history or the likely hood of people joining will probably be very slim.
*Edited because at the time i thought the drow in question was elistrean

it seems to me, that someone with a black face frightened DM Iceshard to death, when he was a kinder, for now on his position is to kill as much drow as possible. And if you are not a drow and he will catch you talking to drow - you will be killed as well, no one have right to be friends with drow not in any case! You will be killed for that, burned, thrown out from everywhere and persuited to the end of your days! What? Someone said possible in RP? Comon Brotherhood, surround and kill them! From The Holy Order of Tyr thread: Both Bogus and Xot will be talked to when we have time in game, by any of the DM's to try and help you along. NOTE: No clerics of Tyr will ever aid, talk to, be affiliated with, or fratinize with Drow... PERIOD! Those who are found doing so will be killed, kicked out from the order and have your cleric levels erased for failing your god and your self. -Ice I still cant understand is it a light RP server, or heave PvP server with fractions Surface and Underdark. Mister Head DM - can we hear logical motivation for kill on sight any and each drow we see on a server? And where in the Tyrs dogma is said that i dont have rights to be friends with drow if i wish so? Where did you find such insayne thoughts about erasing cleric levels for talking to drow? If you ever played BG - there was a possibility to travel with drow, as you remember. Maybe its better to just ask players not to choose UD races untill UD is not ready, then to make a safari and linch every drow on a server?

Light RP: Role Playing with the possibility of Hack N Slash gaming. Notice Roleplaying is still the main for this genre. Now Im not quite sure if you have selective reading or a very limited understanding of DnD/Forgotten Realms/Sword Coast, but Drow are not liked, have never been liked and will never be liked. Im sure you would not go down into the Underdark to enjoy bisquits and tea with them on a regular basis. As it has been written several times in any lore material the Drow are ruthless, backstabbing, murderers, raiders who would stop at nothing for personal power and gain. This doesnt mean you can hold hands with them and frolick about the Sword Coast singing campfire songs expecting things to be good and mery. And dont even fall onto the Drizzit crap, I have heard enough of "Oh Drizzit was good, I can be just like him" "I know Drizzit, he is my half brother three times removed from my Drow House" save it. Drizzit is the VERY RARE exception to the Drow, and even then he is hunted, feared, not fully trusted, and still catches a lot of social flak. Its not like you see him wandering into cities and hangin out with the Dukes of Baldur's Gate or the King of Cormyr. As for Tyr, hmmm let me think about it. A good god, devoted to the destruction of all that is evil doesnt mind his clerics/followers hangin out with the Drow.. who are Evil, kill people for fun, raid villages, and betray their own kind for a seat closer to those in power... hmm.. I dont know.. Im pretty sure he would smite you where you stood, or at least take back his gifts since he wasted them on someone as idiotic as the person hanging out with anything that lives in the Under Dark. But then again thats just me, and my vague understanding of the DnD game, anything forgotten realms, and what ever else Ive come across. So yes there is my decision (as well as many others) on the Drow subject. Dont try to act like its the cool thing to do hangin out with Drow "lets give em a chance" attitude, you will fail. As soon as you step into RP, you are in the DM's realm, and you are then considered an RP, not a hack n slash. K thanks bye. -Ice

Well, as it is right now, the two Drow I've seen have either tried to kill me or deceived me. There has also been a recent attack on Baldur's Gate by a Drow raiding party, so the "Kill on Sight" attitude really is warranted in most places at this point.
EDIT: Or at the very least, other players who have not just arrived off the ship should be EXTREMELY wary of Drow.

About my limited understanding of DnD/Forgotten Realms/Sword Coast - is it your characters? Gauis Cyprianus [level 9] Nikolai Petrikov [Level 7] Henry McDuggle [Level 13]? One greek, one russian and one scotish-american? In a Faerun? In Aber Toril? awesome, what else can i say. lol.
There is nothing to do with Drizzt, evil persons can be normal to their companions if it suits them, then can betray their friends - but it doesnt gives a motivation to kill any drow and delevell players which are not agreed with your strange position. Evilness is not written on their heads, so the cleric of a good god can not act to anybody as he is evil, before he is sure that this person is evil, even a drow. And the good god will take back his gifts only if a cleric become evil and not for anything else. I am trying to give them a chanse to open their evil nature in aRP with other players, to betray their companians or to do something in a really difficult situation. I want to have RP with drow who is in my party, yes. Its more interesting then just to kill-on-sight them, dont you understand that?
"As soon as you step into RP, you are in the DM's realm" - aye, but i am not in an Iceshard setting, i am in Faerun setting, where is a lot of fun and no place for nazy-Ku-Klus-Klan murdering. Its so dull, so boring and so childish, that i dont know what to say. Stop pushing players to kill-on-sight drow, Ice, nobody exept you wants it.

I know were is a problem - Ice, let drow to become a drow, while Underdark is not ready, let them betray their friends on this server, let them make evil deeds - after it any one who was betrayed or killed in a back for loot will have a right for kill on sight. For now on drow will become evil persons only because they are killed-on-sight by surfacers, not because they are evil by their culture and nature. Too soon for a war, your attitude to the UD races putting things up side down. Its drow has to kill us in their towns without a word, not we them.

I prefer this much more than having everyone be a half/demon/dragon/celestial firebreathing son of elminster, who has destroyed three planes of existance but sneezed too hard and lost his memory. Drow are hated and killed on sight, enjoy it, i sure as hell do ;D

In general, I believe a good character giving them a chance would mean not immediately turning them in (unless the specific person is wanted), not attacking them on sight, and just leaving them alone. I think actually joining their parties and carousing with them would be too much. Only in the case of being forced would they interact with the drow -- but I don't think a paladin or good cleric should allow that to happen.
Now, with an evil or chaotic neutral character, interaction would be more of an option since it could be done for personal gain (or out of fear). So, if I want to interact with the drow, I'll use a person of less morals to do so (very fun, too!).

Also,I think peeps should roleplay more fear when confronted by drow, unless you are a cleric and your domain is good or a paladin.I mean seriously, not every adventurer is goin to want to take their chances one on one against a drow.Just my opinion.

Hrmm where to begin, very interested topics here, very biased and somewhat closed minded.
I've been playing, reading D&D AD&D for over 20 years now.
I belive many upon seeing Drizzit for the first time, their first thoughts wernt kill on sight, I think it was more like, "What direction do I run to get the farthest away from him as I can?"
No, on hindsight and looking through my books I cant see any reference to anyone trying to kill him on sight, refusing him entrance to a city, town, tavern? yes, many times, threats...ugly looks, distrust, open suspision? yeah he got all that.
Paladins, Clerics? hrmm detect evil?
The world changes, time moves on, people move and change with it..or they get left behind.
I think if a "good" character attacked anyone "on sight" regardless of skin color, you better be making some alignment checks.
Or a DM who should be unbiased in terms of the game, DM's dont have an alignment or pick sides for that matter, should make an alignment check for that player who does attack any player unprovoked.

One thing to note is that from the PC's point of view, the drow is just another evil "mob". I wouldn't wait for an ogre to possibly talk to me peaceably. If I could slay it from afar, I would. Cuz if it got too close, I'd be dead. Same with a drow. One exception I can see is that if the drow was disguised and befriended me first and then I found out afterwards. Even then, expect feelings of possible betrayal or feeling manipulated. Just my thoughts.
