I posted a message on the General Boards in regards to another guild background that my group was going to do, but after a discussion with DM Kelsfar we have decided to go in another direction.
Recent events in Sshamath have gained the attention of the mercenary leader Jarlaxle. Upon investigating reports of the events that took place in Varalla's Passage Jarlaxle decided to visit the city. During his short stay he offered leadership of Bregan D'aerthe's operations in Sshamath to Sorn Vaszune. Word of the events in rumors and whispers would begin to find their way to the streets though details on the matter remain unknown.
If anyone is interested in more information on the plans or possible membership please feel free to contact me through a message or in game. Thanks again Kelsfar for the opportunity and thanks to the wonderful development team who give us the toy box.
Some information on the group for those who aren't familiar with them; Bregan D'aerthe was founded by Jarlaxle Baenre chosing to seperate from the matriarchal drow society. It is built of mainly rogue drow males from destroyed houses of Menzoberranzan or Ched Nasad. Widely employed by the ruling houses of Menzoberranzan, especially by House Baenre, which has the resources to hire the group regularly.
Jarlaxle is currently adventuring on the surface and has left the organization in the capable hands of his trusted lieutenant Kimmuriel Oblodra. Kimmuriel longs for a time when he can return to his lieutenant status and let Jarlaxle take over again, allowing him to return to his personal psionic studies.
Some time after his adventures in the Bloodstone Lands, Jarlaxle returns and resumes his throne as leader of Bregan D'aerthe, still working in the shadows of society to establish trade and profits from the surface world.
Some of what you read here has yet to transpire in our time frame of Forgotten Realms lore. Jarlaxle remains in Menzoberranzan and other areas of the Underdark where his band of mercenaries operate. I will provide more information on this particular cells operation as things gain momentum.

Well, hence conversation ingame, Torksh would like to have a place amongst the mercenaries.
Tell me what I have to do further.
P.S: It would be good if you prepare some kind of initiation.

Some extra information on the guilds leader. I will continue to post updates as I am able to. An excellent suggestion CartMid and I will be speaking with Torksh IC very soon I am sure. We would like to welcome any suggestions that anyone might have about the guild and any questions you might have as well. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jarlaxle

I am also planning to hold a once per week guild event. These will vary from meetings to NPC interactions to raiding missions. Anyone interested in participating is welcome.

Ok, here are my thoughts so far: First of all, a list of all the members would be great, and also apply some ranks as well. Second, about the missions: I liked the idea of players being able to play some NPCs (By polymorphing ) But I really think we should find a DM that can take care of that for us (I will be asking some of them if they want to adopt our guild). Another thing is to focus in one event at a time! lol.. Even a DM that can port through areas would have difficulty in managing more than one group at the same time. The last event I was in was not very Dinamic and we had long periods of waiting before we could actually do what we were assigned for. It would be better, Sorn, to summon 1, 2 or 3 mercenaries at a time and form the perfect team for the job... and keep focused on that single goal at the time In my mind the missions should be like that: 1 - Someone wants something done or someone killed (Either a Players or a NPC played by a DM), So they talk to Sorn. 2 - Sorn gathers the members (or member) that he judge better to accomplish the task (He can be one of them, of course), and tell them what they need to do. He can say who gave them the job or not. 3 - The team (or the member) does the job. (P.S: Failure is not an option...lol) 4 - They return to Sorn (If he is not already with them) and report the end of the task. 5 - Reward... We are mercenaries, of course ;D. Either the player that requested the job or the DM pays the value previously negotiated with Sorn. Sorn makes the share. Anyway... those are my thoughts... I would avise also secrecy but since we're discussing this freely on the forums that wouldn't make much sense (Except if every player on the server is RP it well). Feel free to make any critics. I will not take it personal, I swear ;D

Thanks for the comments Cart and my apologies for the length of time it took to get some of the plots moving. Next time I'll make sure to take care of one thing at a time instead of trying to handle it all at once, my first time trying to run an event here and what not. I hope other than the time everyone enjoyed it.
As for having a DM support the guild I have thrown my name into that ring in the past and have spoken with Josh in regards to becoming a DM. I think that a second DM would be a great help to Kelsfar and hope to be considered for the title should the staff decide that it is a good decision. It would offer me the chance to delve into the characters motivations for joining a mercenary guild and where it may lead them in the future.
To answer some of the questions that have been asked;
Guild Roster
Sorn Vaszune, acting Captain of Bregan D'aerthe Nythroske Izzril Vuzath Despuil Vukadlok Lorath Grebegk Blockaxe Torksh To'rin
There are a few more people who have expressed interest but due to my current computer situation it is on hold for the time being.
Plots
1. Retrieving artifacts for the Conclave. 2. Acting as guides through the Underdark. 3. Intelligence gathering on the other factions in Sshamath. 4. Eliminating threats to Sorn's control of the guild 5. Double agents within our organization. 6. Disputes with rival mercenary guilds; duergar, drow, etc. 7. Setting up trade operation on the surface. 8. Caravan protection. 9. Last on my list of current ideas is the exploration of each members character. Some of them are more inclined to operate solo while others are better suited for the more militaristic efforts of the organization. Its my hope to help each member of the guild explore their character and help them grow as a member of the server and Bregan D'aerthe.
Ranking system is really simple, Sorn is captain and anyone he comes to trust enough to lead a unit will become one of his lieutenants. There is no limit to the number lieutenants that he might name but at present time he has yet to trust anyone with that title. I expect that to change in the near future however.

Just a side note I am also working on teaching myself the toolset and have contacted the development team about having a guild hall and merchant included in Update 9. Hopefully I will be able to put something together in time, I asked some of you in game but I will post it here as well, if you have any ideas for the guild hall's location please feel free to post the idea. The guild hall in Menzobberanzan is located in a large canyon and is accessed using levitation.

I know things have been really slow in the Underdark lately guys. Hopefully things will pick up once upate 9 goes in. Have some patience and bear with me as things get started. I'm working on plot ideas and the like so once things start to get going we'll have plenty to do.
