There is talk of yet another ranger that survived the initial Drow raids and is still said to be patrolling the wilds between Baldur's Gate and Nashkel. Always willing to lend a traveller aid or protection on their journey. She has not been inducted but would be the perfect candidate.
Radha Sellyana -

Word has reached Daelthrien's attentive ears of an elven woman who dwells in the wild aiding the ones who venture on it.
It's within his priorities now to find this woman and get to know her to find out if she is a true Ranger of Mielikki.
If so, he will introduce her to the elders and let them prove her to the godess of the forest.

Many days have passed and I finally found information that could help our order to rebuild.
I have encountered the elven woman, Radha Sellyana and just by seeing her graceful moves and impressive skills, I thought right away that she would be the perfect candidate to join. She is very concerned with the wilds and the ones who dwells in it. Rialathorn will be satisfied as he learns of her.
Today I finally met my brother Galad Faromil which seems to be very skilled also. A little distracted but a fine person. I introduced myself to him and let him know of the recent events. We agreed that some things should be done:
1 - Find more worthy rangers to join our cause, and induct Radha Sellyana into our ranks.
2 - Search nearby areas in the land for a place that could be turned into a sanctuary. In this place we will make our gatherings and discuss about the surrounding lands.
3 - Track the drow from the attack we suffered at the Ulcaster Ruins and block possible future attacks (Though they were controlled by the Mindflayers they probably still in the area).
4 - Assist the Flaming Fist in the recent matter of the mysterious assassins attacks.
I think that should be enough work for us now. I pray for Mielikki that she continues watching for us.
After that, Daelthrien leaves the shrine and begins his search for the elder elven ranger Rialathorn.

Are these Rangers limited only to followers of Mielikki? It looks like the question has been asked before, but I didnt see an answer.
Thanks!

I propose making this a "generic" wilderness guild. Even allow druids in. Something like.... the Watchers.... or Woodsmen.... Nature's Touch.... or something. Anyway, just a thought.

I like that idea. Maybe if the existing members arent cool with that we could start a second nature-affiliated faction..

Well ... not that I am anything more than a pledge - but it is my opinion that we could be freely affiliated and even allied - but No - we should remain true to fulfilling the original call of the guild and fulfilling our obligations in the name of Mielikki.
There are already a substantial number of Rangers, imo and I would like to see it stay the way it is.
OT's two pence.

I thought of making an aliance with all the guilds of nature into one major guide. I thought of "Guardians of Gaea" which would include the following: - The Rangers of Mielikki - The Druids of Silvanus - Other followers of gods of nature such as Chauntea, Solonor Thaelendira, Eldath and etc... I posted an area that gives an idea of a grove in the area section: theswordcoast.proboards89.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=toolkitareabuilding&thread=1125I mentioned that to some of you ingame already. What you guys think?

As I said. I think this it is a great idea for us to come together on a place. We need to get Josh on board with this discussion asap for it to move ahead though. My suggestion would be to send him a PM, Dael. -OT

Not crazy at all. Like you said, it makes good RP sense. Even if we just decide on a pre-existing area of the PW to congregate - we still need to come together on a place that would be good to rp our affairs.

I have an idea for a place - I will PM you. Tell me what you think.

Daelthrien was in the duchal palace having an audience with the dukes about what seemed to be a recent attack of gnolls in the walled fortress of candlekeep. Right after the end of the meeting, He felt something was going on in the woods. A very powerful force that kept him running until he reached the woods of Sharp Teeth. As soon as he entered the forest, he heard sounds of battle deeper in the woods.
Orcs were being massacred by enormous mossy creatures and former corrupted Treants of cloakwood. There were also what seemed to be two gnomes fighting the orcs along with the mossy creatures and the treants. Daelthrien joined the battle and began slaying the orcs as well. There were many of them pouring out of nowhere like an infestation of bugs. Daelthrien's two scimitars worked the flesh of several Orcs synchronized in a lethal dance being substituted by his bow eventually to hit the forehead of a distant enemy. The mossy things, the treants and the gnomes also kept fighting the non stopping attackers.
After the first wave, a large mossy creature came slowly in the direction of Daelthrien and the two gnomes and pointed the orc caves. The three of them went in that direction to find an army of mossy creatures. Not long after their arrival, more waves of desperate Orcs came to fight the creatures not being sucessful, though. The three adventurers cutted and pierced what seems to be a never ending infestation of Orcs. After the waves stopped, the army of mossy creatures fused themselves with the forest again leaving behind only the large one that seemed to be the leader.
The enormous mossy thing did not seem very talkative. It preferred to talk in slow and heavy gestures. After not revealing what it were and where it came from, the creature left behind three objects that seemed to be branches at first, but turned to be enchanted bows. Not before disappearing into the forest, the creature spoke in a slow deep and loud voice:
The Annnnnnnncieeeeeeeeennnnntttt Oooooooooooneeeee... Reeeeetuuuuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrnnnsssssssss
Not knowing what the creature spoke of, Daelthrien was a bit confused, but one of the gnomes present told that he overhead at a tavern some man talking about an old legend of the "Ancient One" a wise and old guardian of nature that seemed to be sleeping for a long time. The other gnome, a little lady, said she felt the call of nature as well and that was why she got to the woods of sharp teeth even before Daethrien. After a brief conversation she turned to be another follower of Mielikki and a ranger.
Daelthrien was sure of his task after this. He should seek the elder ranger of the order, Rialathorn. Maybe he could know more about the "Ancient One" and what could have awakened this mighty power of nature.
These could be good news for our order. Healed Treants and creatures born of the very forest come to aid us getting rid of the evil that has spread in the region. Perhaps this is the answer of nature for the foul deeds of the orcs that dwells in that forest.
I must warn my brother Galad and master Rialathorn of this. They are wiser and maybe they know what to do of this, and what will be our next step.

A soft breeze caressed the leaves of a sun drenched oak, which stood by a slow moving river near the township of Beragost.
Camped beneath its mighty boughs,Setheron Angalis sat in quiet contemplation, meditating on the shrine of his goddess, meilikki. His ears picked up the distant footsteps of the goblin patrols, but he rested in the surety that his position was safe...for now.
As his gaze caressed the icon near him ,the faint breath of the wind stirred a small white feather at the feet of the goddess..
His eyes focused,he resolved to find who put that token at his beloved meilikki's shrine.

Recent events
I have finally discovered who was the ancient one. I think my heart knew it all the time. A powerful ally of nature that have been awoken from his deep sleep by a group of adventurers including me, my brother Galad and another ranger that caught my attention at that time.
To my surprise, The Ancient One asked a favor to me. I was to be the leader of his Guardians, the already known in the land, Rangers of Mielikki. He said I was to be his Warden.
At first, I thought of Rialathorn to be our voice in the council, but I was not going to deny this request of such a powerful ally. Actually, I pray that Rialathorn is fine. It's a long time I've been looking for him without success.
My path now lies with the Ancient one. For now on, my brother Galad and I are bound to the will of this powerful ally of nature.

A New Ally
Galad has been helping me a lot since the Ancient One named me the head of the Rangers. I do not see myself as his leader... quite the contrary, actually. He is wiser than I in many ways, and I would dare to say most of them.
He is now the Guardian of the Rangers, which leaves us without Pathfinders. As a favor I asked my brother to search for worthy rangers that could be turned into our pathfinder and join us. He agreed with me though, that we should be selective with the ones we bring to our order. Only the most skilled warriors should be brought to our ranks.
I remember that ranger in cloakwood who helped us to revive the Ancient One. Setheron Angalis was to be the first my brother would approach.
With extraordinaire tracking skills, it was no problem for Galad to find him and get to know him better. After three days he returned to me with the good news.
I should now look for him and make his final trial. A new ally will be the most welcome in this time.
