Anonymous account used for secrecy. sorry, i know i probably shouldn't post here, but that's a brilliant idea. perhaps all the PCs who were inducted into the harpers should follow suit. the same would apply to the thieves' guild and any other guild that's members are supposed to be kept secret.

Thats why I always tell people iniate not to post. If you get into a secret organization, dont post let us post it as no one will have any clue who it is. If you make another account, its hard to keep track of what account you need to make a post as heh, we are here for this reason, use us heh.

I see your point but if I wanted to write RP stories as my time as a Harper, I wouldn't be able to. The nice thing about an alternate login is that I can post "anonymous" bulletins from the harpers without giving myself away while letting others know that Harpers are active in BG. If we had a private forum we can solve the "keeping track of" issue by making a post with name to anonymous name mapping. Just a thought.

This message is to validate that I inducted a Harper Initiate last night which matches the story posted in the character biography section.

A letter is sent to the local Harper headquarters through multiple intermediaries. It is sealed in wax and encoded to avoid unintended viewing. Only one with possession of the encryption key can read the following.
Brother Harpers,
I have successfully established myself in a key organization within Baldur's Gate. Suspicion of my membership is unlikely and am well-placed to receive information from all over the surrounding area. The following is the most current news to note. A powerful necromancer is equipping and enchanting beasts of the land to lay havoc. He seems undead and has the ability to summon those of his kind.
He has used a powerful portal to summon his armies and an enormous one was opened just south of Baldur's Gate. We were fortunate however and it failed to fully open. I am concerned lest the portals become more frequent or the large one successfully open.
Send communication if you need more information or need action to occur. I still do not know if any other Harpers are in the area but am available should the need arise.
Sincerely, Harper One

I am not sure of the timeline, but has the Harper split that caused the creation of the Moonstars organization happened already in the game?

[Edit] Having checked my books, that split occured in 1370, about 20 years post server-start-time. Definite answer: no, it hasn't yet.

Ah ok was just curious. I recently pulled up a pdf of the module Halls of the High King, which deals with the harpers vs the risen cult of bane on the moonshae isles. Nice storyline, and when I saw "risen cult", I figured it took place after the balders gate timeline.

Are you required to aim for the prestige class "Harper agent" if you wanted to be a Harper or could anyone be one, even if there was no intention of making the sacrifice to take the feats and skill points required to become the Prestige class?

The class is not a requirement.

Do you get some kind of higher recognition within the organisation for being the prestige class then?
Or perhaps some certain role to play,
I.E. The class gives you some special Harper abilities that are technically divine abilities that are gifts from the gods that generally support the harpers and are thus worshipped by the majority of harpers.
This I imagine comes as a result of dedication on a higher level?
